The Question & The Search Bar
Where the private question begins.
The search bar is the film’s branding moment and the instant a private question becomes visible, so how it arrives matters. I understand there may be limits on how it can be represented, so these ideas start with how it moves, which works with any skin.
It should bloom open from a single point at the centre of frame, spreading outward rather than just appearing. It grows into the scene. The movement eases: slow at the start, quicker as it expands, then slow again as it settles. As it arrives, the scene behind it softens and brightens slightly, so the question reads clearly and still feels like it belongs in the room. Each question then types with a soft, tactile rhythm, like a thumb on glass.
The same motion carries across skins. A solid white bar is the baseline, and everything above applies to it as is. Where the brand allows, a frosted, translucent version picks up the color and motion of the room, so the interface looks like it belongs in the place where the question came up.
Placement tests · “Why won’t my baby sleep?”
